Rail System Dynamic Test Request

HABRAS
Target Ballistics Rail System Dynamic Test Infrastructure
With the Target Ballistics Rail System Dynamic Test Infrastructure (HABRAS), acceleration tests are carried out especially for the function and durability of ammunition systems/sub-systems and canopy launch systems in a controlled environment. HABRAS started its activities in December 2018 at the MSB Firing, Test and Evaluation Group Command located in Konya/Karapınar and since then, more than 50 rail tests have been conducted for more than 10 projects. With a length of 2,000 meters, HABRAS is the second longest rail test line in Europe with a double track structure.
In HABRAS, data can be received from the test item in motion, firing signals can be sent to the test item and propulsion systems used to accelerate the test item, and warheads can be fired with an external system without the need for a safety critical firing unit (fuze). Many measurement/imaging devices such as fast camera, CCTV and Doppler can be used in rail tests.
In HABRAS, loads weighing over 1 ton can be accelerated to speeds of Mach 1.50, providing a dynamic test environment for ammunition systems/sub-systems.
Various Testable Systems/Sub-Systems
Ammunition
Warhead penetration efficiency, fuze function test, behavior of the seeker system in dynamic environment, behavior of the guidance system in dynamic environment.
Rescue Systems
