As a result of Zero Waste Management at TÜBİTAK SAGE Institute, our recycling amounts and the benefits to the environment as a result of these amounts (amount of trees saved, oil savings, water savings, etc.) are recorded. In summary, our benefits so far are as follows:

• The result of plastic recycling;
  • 21 tons of oil avoided (CO2 reduction equivalent to 2.3 tons),
  • 227 trees saved from felling,
  • 94 MWh energy savings (equivalent to the daily energy needs of 9700 homes)
  • Conversion equivalent to 375 tons of water savings was achieved.

• The benefits of the Solar Energy System installed in our Institute so far are as follows:
  • 1.48 GWh total energy production (equivalent to the daily energy needs of 150,304 homes),
  • Benefit equivalent to 17280 Tree Planting,
  • 1 ton of carbon dioxide emission was prevented (400 kg of coal burning was prevented).

• The studies on hazardous wastes in our institute are as follows:
  • Until this time, nearly 100 tons of wastes that are hazardous to the environment according to the regulation have been delivered to authorized companies in accordance with the regulations.
