With these features, the HGK-84 weapon system, which is developed and produced with national capabilities, has an important place in the efforts to reduce the foreign dependency of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Turkish Defense Industry, and to nationalize the defense industry in our country.

The HGK-84, whose production activities continue for the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, eliminates foreign dependency in the need for the 2000 lb class guidance kit, which is frequently used in the operational environment and whose equivalents can be supplied from abroad with special export permits. The weapon system, which can also be used against special targets with the TÜBİTAK SAGE-designed Laser Seeker and Penetrating Grenade, has high hitting accuracy.

The sub-systems and parts of the new generation HGK-84, the design and initial production of which are being carried out under the leadership of TÜBİTAK SAGE, are being produced domestically in cooperation with many defense industry organizations of our country. TÜBİTAK SAGE also contributes to the development of the Turkish Defense Industry with our subcontractor stakeholders involved in these productions.
